GIVEAWAY | MiH Boiler Suit


My love for MiH is no secret, and it has grown and grown as I've gotten to know the label better. Last week I met with MiH designer Chloe Lonsdale while she was in town from London and we talked about her upcoming collection as well as the MiH Boiler Suit ($297). Lonsdale said the suit is inspired by the original all-in-ones that were sold in her father's Jean Machine stores in the 1970's. Aside from the denim, they sold more flying suits than anything else, and Lonsdale has always wanted to produce a really great version of them. And now she has.

I absolutely adore this. When I was in my 20s I bought an old faded blue mechanics jumpsuit at Goodwill in Portland, Oregon. My best friend tailored it for me to give me a waist, and eliminate the dropped crotch a bit.. I remember the one night I really rocked it- i had on a white tank, left it unzipped almost all the way, rolled up ankles and red high heels. I danced all night!! I felt so sexy and amazing in it! This version is obviously more sophisticated- but in my mid-30s I think I still have the attitude to wear this and dance all night!

please let this be my uniform for the spring/summer months ahead!
i vow to wear it often to do things including, but not limited to:
-pack up my car, skip town for the day, & get lost in the woods.
-walk to the neighborhood farmer's market.
-perform with my band at summer music festivals.
-sit around campfires shooting the shit with friends.
