Photo of Sade Adu by David Montgomery, 1980. "I'm not anti-fashion, but I've always had a bit of a punk attitude. That's important, I think. I do my own thing." —Sade Side note: this photo makes me never want to wear a belt again. Keep up with Tomboy Style elsewhere: INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | FACEBOOK.

Sade is an excellent call. She seems to only get better in every regard the older she gets. I love her music and she is easily one of the most beautiful women I can think of. I've seen photos of her making a track suit look good for God's sake.
Anyway - glad to see her getting some love here. Like her bassist's (Paul Denman) style a lot too. Well, not so much anymore - he looks kinda silly these days, but back in the 80s.
I remember watching Sade on Top Of the Pops, a UK legendary music show, and relentlessly copying everything she wore for about a year or so after. She was such a timeless classic and the epitome of what I thought was chic from then on. She gave me my style mojo when I was a teenager and I still dress in that pared back style today. So thanks Sade for everything you taught me about stylish dressing!

I completely agree, it's incredible.
