Q&A | Andrea Westerlind
Photos of Andrea Westerlind by Dominick Volini.
There are people that I've met since starting this blog that I have to admit are much more qualified as an authority on Tomboy Style than I, but none more than Andrea Westerlind. She is both fluent in fashion (and looks as chic in a pair of Marni sandals as she does a vintage pair of Lowa hiking boots) and possesses the ultimate tomboy spirit. Westerlind and I traveled to Montana together and I have never felt like a bigger wimp by comparison. She tells stories casually about scaling and repelling faces of the Rockies and dog sledding in Greenland in the meter that I would describe eating a salad for lunch. It's insane. Beyond being a rough and tumble and stylish Swede, Westerlind is the brains and the muscle behind the retail operation Westerlind, which in my opinion sells and represents some of the best labels in outdoor apparel and gear, including Armor Lux from France, which I can't get enough of. And it was Andrea who first told me the old Swedish adage, "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing." So true.

I want them!
They are vintage Lowa boots. I'm not sure if Lowa makes them like that anymore, but for a similar aesthetic try Danner.
