GEAR | Strawfoot Handmade Bags

There has been no shortage of bag coverage on Tomboy Style and while some bags tend to bleed together in a haze of throwback totes and heritage backpacks, I find Strawfoot Handmade absolutely worthy of a mention. Handmade in Santa Cruz, California, these bags are sturdy and ready to weather anything. In fact, handling one myself and using it just for random errands I felt like I was carrying the Barbour coat of bags. Not only because of the water-resistant waxed cotton canvas and the autumnal colors, but because Strawfoot bags are immediately recognizable as high quality, yet still simple and utilitarian. Strawfoot makes several iterations of bags (and also makes socks, dopp kits, hats, aprons) but I am always drawn to totes that have a closing top because they make the perfect carry-on or day trip bag.
