UNIFORM | Floral Denim

I'm seeing floral jeans everywhere. What's your take, yes or no?

Current/Elliott Stiletto-Haystack Floral jeans ($214); Current/Elliott Stiletto cropped printed jeans ($200); Citizens of Humanity Mandy jeans ($189).

more no than yes but I enjoy looking at the patterns some of them really are beautiful

Yes, but the only ones I like of these three are the first pair on the left.

A style I like on the styley ladies that rock it, but is never going to be part of my wardrobe. I'm far too classic/architectural for that.

In my book its no question, I love floral print!

Fan-flipping-tastic! I'm not usually into florals, but these are just too fab.

On paper, yes...but otherwise I feel that a lot of people will unintentionally cheapen the look by overdoing it thanks to retailers such as Forever 21. Also I don't think this will flatter all body types.
I have a massive crush on the Citizens of Humanity pair. Perfect silhouette, perfect print, perfect rise. Dreamy!

No, but I'm 51. If I were my 20-yr. old tall and skinny self, it would probably be a yes.

I had these exact jeans in the late 80s - cropped, with side ankle zips. I was probably 8 years old at the time, and I rocked them and I plan on rocking them now. Love!

I would maybe wear the Current/Elliots if I had to do floral. But I want my jeans to make me feel good, not like I couldn't find anything to wear except the drapes.

A resounding: hell yeah.

I think these only work if they are worn in a kinda f-ed up way, like w/ a nonironic tear in the knee and grass stains and supercasual shoes. Basically the need is to tomboy them up to stop them from being, as someone said, too Forever 21 looking.

i would wear in a heartbeat. i live near the beach and would just add flip flops and a slouchy t-shirt or chunky sweater. love them all. definitely not a put-together "city" look -- that's a given. and yes, forever 21 is probably unloading knock-offs right now. but who cares. flowers anywhere are fab. and i'm waaaaaaay over 50. (but not granny-style waaaaaay over 50!)

Floral print is brilliant and lovely. But where can I get those sandals?

Patterned bottoms always feel too busy for me, though that first pair is starting to charm me. Maybe something for the spring to think about.

I love them! Just don't know if I could pull them off. Worth a shot though. It's a pretty look.

I was wearing a pair very similar in pattern to those on the far left back in the 80s when I was 18 or so. I wouldn't wear them now— just not my thing!

I know that I would never, ever wear them, but the patterns are lovely. If I had a different relationship with my lower half, I'd consider it.

Oh, no, please no. Maybe if you're a tween.

i just can't. i didn't even wear them in 7th grade when they were so cool. too girly for this tomboy. accessory?...an ESPRIT shoulder bag.
I remember almost the exact floral jeans by Guess when I was in high school. I graduated in 1983 and I think it's true you can't go back. If you wore it the first time around, it never looks great by the second time, even if you can.. Skipping the leggings too this round.

Love your blog!

We LOVE the site and are also totally on board for floral denim this spring, especially when paired with some menswear-inspired basics:

As a male, I've got to say that these do not look good. All I can think is "1992".

I like, and I may just try to pull some off. I'm picturing long rides on my bike with cinch-rolled cuffs....

I also had a pair of similar florals in elementary school, and as someone previously commented, I had no problem "tomboy-ing" them up. My poor mom lamented that I couldn't wear anything THAT pastel with out introducing major grass stains and rips in the knees.
