UNIFORM | Desert Boots



From the British Military, to the polo sidelines (a "chukka" is a seven minute interval of outdoor polo), to Steve McQueen, desert boots have remained a classic in the men's footwear department. Now we're seeing them on women with shorts, jeans and dresses. Some favorites:

Clarks, baby, Clarks. One of my fondest moments-- the pride on my dad's face when he saw me wearing tan desert boots and AOs, just like him. Unfortunately, they don't make the hunter green ones anymore.

Ditto. Love my vintage Clarks in brown, oiled leather.

I also really dig what Mark McNairy's been doing copying all these iconic brands like Walkover with the red crepe soles.

i got these late in middle school and my mom was thrilled as she donned them as a teenager too. for a couple of weeks i had been debating on getting the classic ones again, but now that i see they have them in different textures, oh me oh my!...
