There have been a slew of TERRIBLE books about being preppy and redefining the prep look in the past 5 years or so (most notably True Prep) and only one really good one book on the subject, the original Preppy Handbook—I'd love to get my hands on a first edition too.

because of you, i bought my first pair of weejuns (the penny loafers) since college on the day you posted about them...back in september or so. i have now bought 2 more pair. love, love, love them. great to rediscover an old friend -- they haven't changed at all. 100% leather, made in america, fit perfectly right out of the box. and i don't work for bass! :)
Got the navy Weejuns for Babe and he loves them. On deck pour moi is that first edition bible! XXOO

I've been riding that exact roadster for a year now and they're amazing bikes - simple and zippy and beautiful to look at.
