UNIFORM | Classic Kicks



Classic sneakers have been a staple in the tomboy wardrobe for generations. Every year I go through at least one pair of canvas Vans Authentics, originally known as the Vans deck shoe—a design that hasn't changed since 1966.

I'd love to know, what's your favorite classic sneaker?

Here are a few of my favorites: Converse Jack Purcell ($65); Tretorn T56 ($78); Converse Chuck Taylors ($45); Superga 2750 Classics ($65); Vans Authentics ($52).

I just bought my first pair of Vans, far out they're comfy!! Converse is always good too, but my absolute favorite pair of shoes atm is the Adi Hoop Hi in black - LOVE THESE SHOES!!

Another classic canvas shoe that comes to mind is an Australian great: The Dunlop Volley. They've been around since 1939, and have even started making their old designs again! I'm never without a pair; they're just so comfy, and to most of Australia, they bring lots of memories of the good years gone by.

Number one would have to be Chuckies. The Jack Purcell ones are wonderful too, and then there's the bensimons, which I've never actually even tried on, but have been eying for years. Oh, and palladiums too!

I love the Supergas! I wear the navy ones. I remember a picture of Princess Diana in them years ago and I have been a fan ever since, even my 5 year old son wears them. Gosh there's another canvas one I can't put my finger on the name of.. but it had like a half moon shaped logo with orange in it...

i bought my first pair of Vans this year - the authentic lo pro black - and im already thinking baout buying a white pair.
but my all time favorites are the Chucks and the Purcells.

(and id love to own the Axl Converses.. but probably in a shelf)

I always admire the Converse... And try them on several times each summer season, but they don't seem to go well with my feet. Oh, maybe this year :-D

Still deciding on a favorite! Had a a pair of chucks a few years ago; wore that to bits, and was reluctant to throw them out because it was so comfy! Now breaking in a pair of VANS canvas authentics, and liking them so far.

It's Jack for me~Purcells fit me just right, in a way the traditional Converse don't. A new pair, black or blue, every year without fail!

The more I follow your blog, the more I realize my tomboy style. Gosh, I didn't pay any attention to it before. I have a major collection of converse all stars. I see a new color & I buy; rock with them frayed denim or beat up khakis. Love them & love this post! xx from Soleil

I've gone through so much. when I was a kid, it was all about the keds. then as a middle schooler/high schooler I changed into converse. and as those wore out, I ended up with jack purcells. and now I'm back on keds and toms.
