This indigo chore coat is my new favorite item. It's soft but sturdy, totally utilitarian and multi-functional, the perfect blue, and American-made. What I like just as much as the coat, is how I came to it. I met Anaïs of the photo duo
Anaïs & Dax last week and she was wearing it. Before we could get into any niceties or hellos I blurted out,
tell me everything about your coat! She told me she saw servers at (one of L.A.'s most-loved bakeries)
Gjusta wearing them and mustered the courage to ask where they were from. The coat is made by the label
Lily Ashwell, the daughter of Shabby Chic's Rachel Ashwell. Admittedly, I would have totally overlooked the Lily Ashwell
Indigo Linen Workman's Jacket ($185) if it wasn't for Anaïs. And how cool that the servers at Gjusta wear them—they are literally a uniform, and that arm pencil pocket, I'm into it.

P.S. I'm wearing size small, am 5'7", so I think there are only two sizes.
That is an AWESOME jacket. First piece of clothing I've seen and wanted in a while. Not sure if I should thank you or yell at you:).
According to a Teen Vogue article, Lily is the daughter of Rachel Ashwell...http://www.teenvogue.com/fashion/designers/2012-11/lily-ashwell/?slide=1

I like it.
LOVE the coat... and the scarf. Where did you get it?
@Madeline
Scarf is Levi's (I think!) from a year or two ago. It's lightweight and square-shaped which, for whatever reason is hard to find, so it's one of my faves. Thanks!
Great jacket. And topped off with a Caran d'Ache pen. Ooh-la-la!
Thanks Lizzie! Just ordered the jacket, at any rate. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the good work.
Immediately ordered an XS :) Can't resist a good indigo utilitarian piece.
Very nice coat !
Did the male servers at Gjusta also wear this coat? I'm a fan, but also a guy, so not sure if the cut will fit...
