The closest to camping I can remember being is "camping out" with my family at home (cooking food on our grill, s'mores, and a giant tent in our living room!) or possibly the camp we attended in elementary schools.
Nevertheless, despite my lack of camping experience, I would love to go camping somewhere beautiful and wonderful. But then again, isn't all of nature beautiful and wonderful?
To be more specific, I want to visit lots of national parks (Yellowstone, Yosemite, etc.) and maybe one day go camping in Alaska! Maybe if I ever make it to Europe, camping out in the English countryside or amidst the mist in Ireland?
A girl can dream! :)

Thanks for giving away such a fabulous camping box, Lizzie!

What a cool giveaway!

My favorite place that I have gone camping is Dolly Sods in West Virginia. It is beautiful and the landscape is varied, from wind-blown hill tops, other-worldly fields of boulders with wild blueberries (and snakes! yikes!), and a friendly creek that has pools and natural slides.

The hike that is on my bucket list is the coast-to-coast walk in England, as inspired by a 2003 article in Smithsonian.
ooooh there are so many glamorous places to camp but i would transport myself back to my childhood and camp out in my back garden in the Pennsylvania countryside. I could see the lights of my house glowing warmly in the night and i would love the thrill of sleeping under the stars, watching fireflies wink, and waking up to birdsong in the morning.

Erin

when i was five, my dad took my 2 brothers and me on a "hobo" camp -out. it was not too far into the woods, up a little mountain, behind out house in western maryland, but he convinced us all that we would camp like hobos. we packed some clothing rolled up in red cowboy kerchiefs, tied to the end of a stick. he had the main gear, but we all walked single file behind him with out sticks over our shoulders, singing songs and being "hobos". that day he taught us how to build a fire, make a little mustard spreader for our hotdogs by taking twigs and cutting the ends into a brush like form, he taught us to put leaves down to make our sleeping bags comfy, and how to look at the stars. i've camped all over the world, but this camping trip remains in my mind, the most special one.
